i got this to try and sped up my Droid 1 in addition to rooting it and changing the ROM. It seems to work pretty well. mount times are about half of what they used to be, the Touchdown app runs faster, etc. It's not a solution that would bring it up to current performance capabilities but it keeps me from having to get another phone any time soon.
