I would like to use the DVD recorder every day. It works OK until I record one TV show on DVD while watch a different channel. When the time for recording is over, the machine writes it to the DVD. Then it turns off automatically. When I turn on the machine again, it defaults to the VCR and there is no way to get it back to the DVD except to unplug everything, wait 20 minutes, and then plug it in again. I've only had the machine for about a week and this has happened several times. There has to be something defective here.
Also the remote is very hard to work. I have to press about 3 times to get it to work every time--no matter what button I am pushing. It's like it's not making the connections. This machine is OK, if it would only work the way it's supposed to!

I have one of the first rear-projection CRT HDTV's (no digital tuner) but wanted to experience full HD over-the-air TV "and" record it too. This is the perfect device and doesn't require a costly subscription like TIVO. It's like living in the 2010's with one foot in the 90's and having the best of both worlds.

I record nearly everything that we watch so ease of set-up and playback is essential. If I'm out of town I like to know that I can record on both VCR and DVD for extended recording time. My one complaint is the with remote because it has gray lettering on a black background making it hard to read.

I don't like the fact that I can't see the time displayed on the unit while watching T.V. My old unit displayed not only the present title but also the title of the next show. This newer unit does not do either of those things. I read the owners manual and am putting in a request to have the remote control fixed which is defective
