The VAIO Z2 VPCZ212GX/B 13.1" Notebook Computer from Sony is a compact notebook computer with power and design finesse. This extremely lightweight system weighs no greater than 2.57 pounds and is 0.66" thick. The system features a 13.1" LCD display with a LED backlight, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 1600 x 900 resolution. It is rife with wireless options -- dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR are standard issue. The VAIO Z2 also sports a webcam and integrated microphone.
Because this computer is designed to be compact, portable, and energy-efficient while you travel, it does not house a dedicated graphics card or a built-in optical drive. Rather, Sony has designed and included their "Power Media Dock", which houses both and includes a number of different ports for connecting external devices. The Power Media Dock features a DVD/CD burner and an AMD Radeon HD 6650M Graphics Processor with 1GB of VDRAM. This GPU allows your computer to handle more demanding HD video and games. The dock also includes one HDMI port, one VGA port, two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, one Gigabit Ethernet Port, and one customized Port Replicator connector for plugging the dock into the notebook.
For those times when you'd like to watch content on a larger screen, the VAIO supports Intel's Wireless Display technology, which allows you to connect to an HDTV wirelessly. You'll need the optional Netgear Push2TV accessory to utilize this technology.
The computer is powered by a dual-core 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-2410M CPU, which can be overclocked to 2.9GHz thanks to Intel Turbo Boost. It is loaded with 4GB of RAM, 128GB of solid state storage, and an integrated Intel GMA HD 3000 graphics when you aren't using the Power Media Dock. Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1 (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

Comments about Sony VAIO Z2 VPCZ212GX/B 13.1" Notebook Computer (Black):
I was beating myself up on spending 2G for a laptop, but there is nothing else out there that comes close to this. I wanted the thinnest, lightest, longest battery life PC and this is it. It is lighter than my tablet. I do a lot of traveling and a tablet can't do everything I need on the road. This thing is small enough it fits in my portfolio that holds 8.5 x 11" paper. I throttled the CPU down and can run all day on a single charge. I have not used the included docking station, but it can handle 3 additional independent monitors.
I have tried to be cheap in the past and have always regretted not getting what i wanted, but not this time. I have had 2 SONY VAIOs in the past and never hand an issue with them. PS. this awakes from sleep in 2 seconds, cold boot or from hibernation around 20 seconds.
