Ikelite Digital Substrobe DS51 Flex Package with Fiber Optic Adapter

The Ikelite Digital Substrobe DS51 Flex Package with Fiber Optic Adapter includes the Digital Substrobe DS51, the #4087.1 Flex Arm System and the Fiber Optic Adapter. This package enables easy strobe placement from macro close-up to wide angle without changing the aim of the EV Controller (if used), which may operate as a wireless sensor triggered by another flash or be connected via an optional sync cord. Ikelite TTL Sync Cords connect Ikelite Substrobes to Ikelite housings that feature a bulkhead connector. The Fiber Optic Adapter converts any Ikelite DS Substrobe's electrical bulkhead into a fiber optic port. The adapter is to be used with compatible non-Ikelite fiber optic cables and housings, as fiber optic cables are not available for sale through Ikelite.

The DS51 offers 50 watt-seconds of power in a compact size with coverage adequate for lenses as wide as 28 mm, or add the included diffuser for wider coverage and softer lighting. Combine multiple strobes to cover very wide angle lenses with minimal illumination of particles suspended in the water. The DS51 operates TTL when connected by an appropriate sync cord to some Ikelite housings. It provides a manual exposure mode with six manual power settings in one-half f-stop increments for precise illumination of subjects. The strobe features a 70° angle of coverage, which gets bumped up to 80° with the included diffuser. Recycle time back to full power is only 3.5 seconds. Get up to 200 flashes with full- power batteries. The light has a 5700 Kelvin color temperature. The strobe is depth rated to 300' (91 m).

The #4087.1 Flex Arm System includes a #9573.3 Ball with Extended Length Stem, a #9573.4 Flex Mount for DS51 and 10 pieces of Flex Arm Extension. #9573.3 gives you an attachment point for Flex Arm components to any Ikelite release handle. The stem is sufficiently long to allow for the attachment of an EV Manual Controller or optional #9074.1 Mini-C Lite Mount.

The Fiber Optic Adapter works with all Ikelite DS substrobes and is compatible with both pre-flash and non pre-flash modes. It requires a fiber optic cable (sold separately), as well as a compatible camera and a housing allowing use of the camera's built-in flash. The adapter is depth rated to 300' (90 m).
