Comments about Zoom Telephonics DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem and Wireless-N Router:
Had the router a few weeks and it is great. Good reception with a strong WiFi signal throughout a 2 story 2600 sq. ft. house. You may need to make a few tweaks for your internet provider and here they are.
1)Use this if you're having slow download/upload speeds or in my case over 65% packet loss on a ping test. You can check your DL & UL speeds here (speedtest[dot]net) and test for packet loss here (pingtest[dot]net). Login to the routers gateway using 192.168.0.1 and you can find your username and pass in your instruction manual. Once in click Firewall at the top, then Web Filter on the side panel. Toward the bottom of the page uncheck "IP Flood detection" and click apply.
2)Some people have reported a dropped WiFi signal after a few days of use. This is generally caused by interference from other wireless signals in the area. To fix this login to your gateway again. This time click on Wireless at the top then Radio on the side panel. Change your Control Channel # to any of the numbers 1-11 listed then click apply. If you're still getting a dropped signal after the change then switch to another channel until your signal is constant. By default the Control Channel is set to Auto which is supposed to automatically switch channels when the router detects interference but this doesn't always work so well.
These two items tend to be the biggest issues with this router. Once you get it setup right it should be clear sailing.

Comments about Zoom Telephonics DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem and Wireless-N Router:
I'm a Comcast user and I replaced an old Linksys (rented from Comcast for $7/month) with the Zoom 5350 in about 20 minutes including 10 minutes for Comcast to recognize and get the MAC address from the Zoom. The first time you try to get to the web with the Zoom installed you get a Comcast web site asking for your account ID and phone number. At this point Comcast already recognizes the Zoom 5350. Provide the info and wait for about 10 minutes. Voila, you're on the web. From there log in the router using the Zoom instructions (admin/admin), go in Firewall and UNCHECK the IP Flood Detection. To set the WIFI follow the Zoom instructions. I used all the default settings. In minutes you'll have a fast and reliable WIFI network. Easy. In my house the WIFI signal has a range of about 50 feet. Good luck.

I purchased this to replace the Motorola SBG6580 which had been replaced twice due to the modems rebooting every 12-16 hrs, Since replacing with the Zoom, I have not had any issues with the modem resets. Should have purchased this right off the start.
