Comments about Sony SLT-A35 Alpha 35 DSLR Digital Camera (Body Only):
I purchased this camera for my mom for Christmas and I ended up using it more than she did. I immediately fell in love with it. The pictures this camera takes are absolutely breathtaking; they are so clear and so vivid. I love that it automatically can change from LCD view to the viewfinder when your face gets close to it. Love that it is compatible with old Minolta lens mounts (the main reason that I purchased it so that my mom could use her old lenses). Definitely a MUST BUY!!

Comments about Sony SLT-A35 Alpha 35 DSLR Digital Camera (Body Only):
After my Minolta 7D went to a better place, I needed a new camera to fit my spread of lenses. Sony is the best place to go, so after research we decided on the Alpha 35. I am still getting accustomed to it, but we were immediately impressed with how light the body is. This is bound to help in low light situations.
Upgrades since my last camera - automatic flash pop-up, easy access timers, amazing resolution!! 16Mp are incredible! A neat feature I found is the smile shutter technology. It doesn't work so well in low light, but I'm looking forward to testing on my nephews.
Still learning a few tricks - a lot less buttons on the body, so I'm having to figure out the shortcuts (or longcuts) of how to get a few places.
We're totally pleased with this camera so far. I'll review further if I find a need!

Comments about Sony SLT-A35 Alpha 35 DSLR Digital Camera (Body Only):
Had this camera for about two weeks now and LOVE it. Replaced a Sony HDR-HC5 and Canon HV40 with this camera. I skipped the kit lens and opted for the Sony SAL-50F18 50mm f/1.8 DT AF Lens and am not disappointed. Picture quality is unmatched in the price group and the camera is fast with little lag time.
I had my first videography gig last week in downtown Chicago and the camera worked wonders on a day that went from sunny to cloudy. I used a Rode camera mounted shotgun mic mounted on an Opteka X-GRIP holder. Worked like a charm with no noticeable lens noise.
A few slight cons...
The fixed LCD might cause problems when self recording. B&H lowered the price $50 two weeks after I bought it! Killing me B&H!

Comments about Sony SLT-A35 Alpha 35 DSLR Digital Camera (Body Only):
I got this camera (body only) to shoot my son's sports and to shoot video of upcoming hunting trips. I've been using the Sony A100 for a few years and have been very pleased with it's performance, but it was time for an upgrade.
I like the fact that since I am an amature photographer it has a tutorial that is shown on the screen when I select something on the program dial. I'm a hands on person and don't like to spend most of my time reading the manuals. It's lightweight and a little smaller than my A100. I do suggest getting a good quality sdhc card that has at least 8GB and 60mb/s. You will notice how quickly your photo's upload and record.
So far I haven't found any faults with this camera. It is very lightweigt as I mentioned so that takes some getting used to.

Comments about Sony SLT-A35 Alpha 35 DSLR Digital Camera (Body Only):
Now that there Adobe has released Camera Raw and Lightroom Release Candidates that cover its RAW files, I had a chance to really test it. The files are excellent, which is what matters with a great dynamic range. The camera even correctly metered an IR filter. The eye-level-electronic-viewfinder is kind of hard to get use to as I like a lot of others, have a habit of reviewing the image taken in the screen at the back. It took me a bit to realize that when looking through the view finder, one is seeing the actual results of clicking the shutter since it has the histogram right there to look at. Originally, I had a Nex as my walk around camera to go with my medium format back, but could not get used to a not looking through a view finder, this is my upgrade to the Nex and am glad I did. With two lenses, I have a camera that covers 16mm to 350mm. Don't think I have used it enough for pro/con comments. I do think this takes a little getting use to.
