The enclosure makes CD, DVD, and / or Blu-ray disc burning and playing easy with Macs and PCs. It's bus powered, meaning there's no AC adapter needed, and ultra-thin and lightweight for easy transport in your gear bag.
While the SuperSlim is a very attractive option for Mac mini, MacBook, and MacBook Pro owners wishing to retask a removed Apple SuperDrive, it is also a great choice for any 9.5mm optical drive--even those with mounting tabs. Whether you choose an enclosure kit to build your own solution or select an OWC pre-configured one, the SuperSlim provides reliable and portable disc read / write capabilities to accommodate your specific needs. When equipped with an Apple SuperDrive, the enclosure provides CD and DVD write speeds equal to or exceeding those of the internally-installed optical drive in the 2011 MacBook Pro.
