The LaCie 2TB LaCinema PlayHD Media Player features full HD 1080p playback with both DTS and Dolby Digital Audio support for outstanding sound. There's a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port for transferring media onto the player, as well as a USB expansion port for connecting USB hard drives, digital cameras and video camcorders directly up to the LaCinema. This feature also affords USB storage expansion in-case you require more than the generous 2TB of internal storage capacity
Besides a USB 2.0 interface, the unit also features a full-size HDMI 1.3 output for connecting the media player to your HDTV. This facilitates uncompressed, full HD 1080p video playback. There's a composite video output as well, and for audio output to a stereo or home theater system, the unit's equipped with RCA L/R stereo audio outputs and a coaxial digital audio output. Plus, both HDMI and the coaxial digital audio interface support the high-quality DTS and Dolby Digital Audio decoding for surround sound.
With 2TB of internal storage capacity, the media player has ample room for storing your complete media library. It supports several video, audio and photo file formats, as well as direct connection via USB port of other media storage devices including MP3 players and digital cameras. For added flexibility, the device is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS, features a multi-language menu interface, and even comes with a wireless remote control for comfortable operation from your couch, chair or bed.
The LaCinema PlayHD was designed industrial and lighting designer Neil Poulton, who specializes in crafting deceptively simple-looking, mass-produced enclosures that hide very complicated technology and hardware. This contradiction between exterior simplicity and interior technology gives the LaCinema PlayHD Media Player a unique and distinctive look with modern aesthetic sensibilities.
