The B230 Voyager PRO UC Bluetooth Headset System from Plantronics is a Bluetooth headset, perfect for facilitating hands-free mobile communication. The headset adheres to the Bluetooth standard and can be used with your Bluetooth computer and most Bluetooth-enabled cell phones within a range of 30 feet, or 9.14 meters. It can be paired with up to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, so that you can use it with multiple phones. With the included Smart Sensor technology, you can automatically answer calls by placing the headset on your ear. You can also transfer calls between your mobile phone and headset.
The headset fits comfortably over your ear thanks to its ear loop design. The headset's microphone uses the AudioIQ2 system for noise cancellation. Two microphones work in conjunction with an adaptive 20-band equalizer to remove background noise, improving the quality of your communication. This system also works in conjunction with the WindSmart system, which is designed to prevent wind noise and to help the microphones capture crisp and clear audio. Along with these features, the headset also supports wideband audio, so as to ensure that your voice sounds natural.
The headset fully supports the Bluetooth 2.1+EDR standard, and is backwards compatible with older Bluetooth devices. You can even pair it with your computer or handheld Bluetooth device and stream songs, podcasts, GPS directions and more because of the supported A2DP technology. The headset can provide up to 6 hours of talk time or 5 days of standby time on a full charge.

I purchased this for work where we use GoToMeeting as well as Google voice. I'm constantly on conference calls and like to multi-task but not be chained by a wire.
I also wanted to use it with my cellphone's bluetooth connection for when I'm on-the-go.
This thing handles both of them very nicely. Whenever I ask somebody, "Can you hear me?" the reply is rarely just "yes" but rather "yes, very clearly" or "sounds great."
The headset comes with a "dongle" that plugs into my computer. Pairing it with my cellphone uses the same procedure as would any other bluetooth headset.
Two negatives I can think of (one may not be unique to this headset):
It comes with a case that clips onto my belt. There is a small pouch inside of the case for holding the USB dongle. That pouch is a little tricky and I have had the dongle fall out if it's not placed back just-so. Perhaps a small velcro closure would help.
One other drawback (I am not clear whether this is an issue with the Android phone operating system or the way this headset handles A2DP) is that when using it in the car while navigating with Google Maps the first second or so of audio is cut off. So, "Turn left at Main Street...then turn right..." becomes "Main Street...then turn right..."
Based on what I have read this is because unless you are listening to a constant audio stream the audio is "turned off" and then "turned on" as it is needed.

Not so wind proof. I works better than the mic and speaker on my phone but I am still trying to get it to work with my PC and I still haven't seen the value I wanted for [$]. I kept it only because I got the sage max protection, I need a headset and B & H's selection of bluetooth headsets is unfortunately going inadaquite but I have got to have the sage max protection on these little guys. The case for this one is nice and will probably keep sage max from having to pay me for this device in the next two years.

Really good microphone quality, from what others tell me and the recordings I have made. I was disappointed in the speaker quality though. It sounded very low fi. In addition, the set up was a pain, I couldn't get it to work without the usb adapter in Windows 7. But the thing that makes me want to return it is that it can take 10-15 seconds for the headset to connect to the usb adapter on initial power on. I like to power off the headset when not in use, and the delay is too long to be practical, especially since they are supposed to already be paired.

Comments about Plantronics B230 Voyager PRO UC Bluetooth Headset System:
The B230 Voyager PRO UC Bluetooth Headset System is and excellent earpiece. it is light, comfortable, and does not fall off when turning one's head or bending over. And with the choice of other earbuds, the fit is even better.
After purchasing several poor to mediocre earpieces, I did some research and found this product to be far superior. The noise cancellation really is as accurate as Plantronics says. People to whom I am speaking say that the sound is amazing; they think I am speaking on a landline, not from an earpiece in my car. It is pricey, but well-worth it, especially if the consumer takes into account how much was spent on other poor quality pieces. I highly recommend this product.

I bought this specifically to use with Dragon Dictate for the Mac. I replaced an analog mic. It does an excellent job of filtering out noise. I found it made very few mistakes. I have also paired it with a Pantech Breakout. Definitely a plus to be able to use it with both.
I like being able to do other things around the house or office and still be able to dictate.
I ran into a problem with the mac when I didn't read the fine print. If you follow the direction EXACTLY it works like a charm.

Use this with my Avaya software for work and also my iPhone 4. other than a couple of glitches getting it setup, it has worked as advertised. I love that you can see or hear how long you have left on the battery!

Comments about Plantronics B230 Voyager PRO UC Bluetooth Headset System:
I'm using the Plantronics B230 with both my Dell laptop (via the included USB bluetooth adapter) and with my Droid X2. Pairing was fast and easy with the Droid, and I had the B230 connected to my laptop in seconds. I also use the headset in my left ear, as the unit adjusts in seconds to accommodate use in either ear. It also folds up nicely and fits in the included carry case (a nice little extra). I use the headset for conference calls, using the free calling features in Google. People on the call don't even know I'm using a headset. The noise cancelling mic is very good as well. Volume is fine in the headset, though in very noisy conditions (e.g. in an airport terminal or a train station) it is sometimes tough to hear well... but that's to be expected.
Overall, I highly recommend the product. Well worth the price, and easy to use.

Cannot say anything bad about this. Good fit, amazing battery life, does exactly what they say it does, and it does it well.
Very pleased, cannot do more than recommend it -- and have done so and will continue to do so.

This product was purchased primarily to use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking, a voice recognition program. It works well and gives a high percentage of accuracy with the program. We also paired it with our smartphones and soon will do so with VOIP phones. It is small and lightweight and sometimes you forget you are wearing it.
It does seem to take a while to charge and I am never quite sure when the charge is complete, but the charge seems to last the full 6 hours claimed and that is good.

Now, all the audio from the phone comes to my headset, even GPS instructions and Pandora. An unexpected bonus. And all the audio on my PC is directed to the headset as well with the included dongle. A fantastic product.

Had the earlier version without the "touch sensor" technology and I lost it so I got the new version. Both units: Great audio, very comfortable, easy to use. The new version is awesome as I don't need to find the earpiece if it is still active and not in my ear. Nor do I need to switch anything in the phone to have the call go to the earpiece. WAY safer while driving.

Wow! It knows when you have it on your ear and signals the phone. One of the best earpieces for hands free operation and you can use it with your laptop as well. If you walk away from your phone leaving it in the car, it'll whisper in your ear that you are missing something!
