Whether you're rooting for your team in the big game, watching the latest movie on Blu-ray Disc or playing your favorite console game you'll get more out of the experience with the Optoma HD33 DLP Projector. With native 1080p resolution, the HD33 delivers amazing images with great detail. PureMotion image processing ensures smooth and judder-free projection of images. The projector supports both 2D and 3D projection seamlessly and delivers the excellent cost of ownership typical of Optoma products. It put outs 1800 ANSI lumens at a 4000:1 contrast ratio to provide rich, saturated colors in true 1080p high definition to every one of its 2,073,600 pixels.
Projectors with Texas Instrument's DLP with BrilliantColor technology feature multi-color processing to produce accurate and vibrant colors on the screen. The HD33 multi-color processing system features a six-segment color wheel coated with an advanced material that achieves superb color saturation and accuracy for extraordinary image quality. In addition, incredibly high native contrast ratios ensure clean and crisp black and white to ensure that text and charts are easy to read. And it's useable all over the world with its 100 to 240 V AC 50/60Hz power supply and its ability to accept PAL and SECAM standard broadcasts in addition to the NTSC North American standard.
With two HDMI inputs plus component and VGA inputs, with the HD33 your entertainment options have never been more flexible or, well, more entertaining.

This is an excellent 3D projector.
There is absolutely, no cross-talk and no flicker at all, even with material that is not very well known for its 3D quality, such as "Tangled", or "Despicable me" and " Monsters vs Alliens" blu ray 3D!
It delivers very bright and perfect colour saturation even in daylight conditions in the projection room with very low noise!
I saw no judder at all, even in very fast action scenes!
The only problem is with its set-up, since there is luck of vertical, or horizontal lense shift!
However, with a little effort, this is a disadvantage which can be overcome!
DLP technology from Texas Instruments, and 3D-RF, or DLP-Link technology developed by Optoma, really deliver the great performance results, Optoma claims for these technologies to perform in its official site! ...And all this at a fraction of the cost other 3D projectors have!
I'm off to getting the upcoming Optoma HD83 model for sure, especially if it sells at such low a price as the HD33 model!

First the 3D quality and 1080P quality is great. 1080i TV and any SD look poor. This is a real slave to content. Out of the box settings are plain stupid. This must be tweaked to get a good result. The throw distance range is terribly small. Don't try to ceiling mount this either, there isnt a lense shift feature. So, from the ceiling on a 100" screen, you will lose 6 inches vertically. I spoke to Optoma about this and they said lense shift isnt a feature at this price point. False, just not in Optoma. The bottom line is if you will watch alot of 3D this will do the trick. Stay away if you won't use the 3D.

Comments about Optoma Technology HD33 DLP Projector:
I have man cave that has ambient light control, I sit about 15 feet from a 120 inch screen with +1 gain and this PJ gives you nice crisp and rich colors with deep blacks!! It is hooked up to an Onkyo 709 THX that has among other audio presets, height and wide Dolby PLIIz channeling for audio and it perfectly rounds out the sweet spot for a truly amazing 3 dimensional experience in both audio and video! On the downside, I noticed the DLP rainbow effect while watching the movie 300 in Bluray but then disappeared when I watched Avatar 3D in Bluray. Not sure if I got rid of it from all the tweaking or my eyes just adjusted to it as it is no longer evident. Weird, but I'll take it, now I'm in 3D heaven! I hope the fun lasts a long time....

Comments about Optoma Technology HD33 DLP Projector:
I wish it came in black but other than that has been great. Have it hooked into my Onkyo receiver and watching netflix, hulu, [@], dvd's, Blu-Ray's and when my glasses come in tomorrow 3D Blu Ray. Throws out a bright picture that even my poorly light controlled room shows well. (I wouldn't have any light directly thrown on the viewing serface however. MY only gripe is I wish the remote had a laser pointer built in, but then again this isn't a business projector...

Comments about Optoma Technology HD33 DLP Projector:
I gave up my home theatre system for almost 10 years until recently I saw a demo of the 3D projection at an agent. The heat started up again when I searched on the web and was attracted by this Optoma HD33. The price is really un-beatble and so I ordered one. Delivery was quick and within 1 week I received the full package. Setup was easy and in an hour time I could sit down to watch my first movie. The performance is great with solid and natural color, contrast and brightness fine tuning is easy for both 2D and 3D projection. This is really a great product valued for money.

Optoma produce excellent projectors. This model, the HD33,which includes 3D feature is amazing for the price. Do not hesitate.Blurays look great. If you have a projector already, upgrade to 3D and if you are new to Home theater projectors start with this one. Obtain DLP link glasses which are now reasonably priced and project onto a screen or a wall and be impressed.

The 3D is amazing. Better than the theaters.
The lack of lens shift makes the install kind of a pain, but once you find that sweet spot, all is right with the world.
A bargain at twice the price.
