The Voyager S3 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Drive Dock from Newer Technology, Inc. removes the need to open your computer case or purchase an additional external hard drive. The Voyager can read any 2.5" or 3.5" SATA(I/II) hard drive with a capacity of up to 3TB. It features a USB 3.0 connection for fast data transfers and is also fully backwards compatible with USB 2.0. Its hot-swap support and eject push button allow you to switch out multiple hard drives quickly and safely.
The weighted base and non-skid rubber feet keep the Voyager in place while adding or removing hard drives. It is also compact enough to save desktop space. It also does not have a cooling fan to ensure a "Whisper Quiet" operation, which reduces the noise emitted by the hard drive. The Voyager has Plug and Play capabilities with backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports and can be used with computers with either Mac or Windows operating systems.

Comments about Newer Technology Voyager S3 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Drive Dock:
I bought this drive dock after my laptop crashed. Apparently there was something wrong with the logic board but I didn't know if the hard drive was damaged or not, and I wanted to get my data off of the drive if possible. I didn't want to pay to repair the old laptop because I just got a new one, and I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars to get my lost data through a data recovery service! Luckily someone told me I could probably take the laptop apart myself, get the drive out, and then buy a dock to put the drive in and plug it in to my functioning computer. I'm not a "power user" by any means but it was all super easy! I found this dock and hoped it would work for my hard drive. I received it very quickly, with no problems, took it out of the box, plugged it in, and it works perfectly! All my data is still there and I can access it just like from an external hard drive. I know this product will be very useful in the future with any other drives I need to remove, and also I can use it for extra file storage! Such a great deal!

Comments about Newer Technology Voyager S3 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Drive Dock:
I bought this to access 3.5 inch drives from my old G5 tower. The drives would mount but my system would freeze up and crash whenever I tried to access the data. I tried with two units and both behaved the same way.
I swapped it out for the Aluratek version - which works quite well. Thinking that perhaps it is a USB 3 vs. USB 2 issue. Even though USB 3 should be backwards compatible with USB 2 - I think the USB 3 was causing the problem (unless there is some driver I am unaware of...but I did call Newer Technology for help and no one suggested anything).
