If you're a hardcore videophile it's hard not to get excited by the Sony VPL-VW70 BRAVIA Home Theater Projector. Its 800 ANSI lumens are augmented by a contrast ratio that can reach 60,000:1 for the most vivid, lifelike images you've probably ever seen from a video projector.
It can project 720p 1080i and 1080p high-definition signals as well as video in the NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL, PAL-N, PAL-M, PAL-60 and SECAM video standards. It also has an international 120 to 240 V AC 50/60 Hz power supply so you can put it to work in many locations around the world.
The VPL-VW70 has two HDMI inputs so you can hook up both your cable/satellite connection and your DVD or Blu-ray player and keep the signal in pristine digital form throughout its electronic journey. The two inputs are also compatible with Sony's 24p True Cinema, which enables you to watch movies at 24 fps (frames per second), which is exactly the frame rate at which movies are shot. BRAVIA Sync means you'll be able to control HDMI CEC-compliant components with a single remote.
Deep Color and x.v.Color are the latest standards that enable HDTV color to be even more vivid and lifelike, enabling the VPL-VW70 to reveal any color the human eye can perceive. Not only does this projector have an unsurpassed picture but it doesn't compromise the audio portion of the program. Its fan noise, at 22 dB, is literally well under the level of a whispered conversation.
