The G-RAID mini 160 GB Portable Hard Drive with Triple Interface from G-Technology is a high-capacity portable RAID that features two 7200 rpm drives striped together in a hardware RAID 0 configuration and an interface that allows it to be connected via FireWire-800, FireWire-400 or USB 2.0.

The drive is housed in a durable titanium external casing that features a small and quiet fan for cooling. The drive features a portable design and form factor that will match your MacBook Pro perfectly. It delivers transfer rates fast enough to play back multiple streams of high-definition video simultaneously, making it an ideal solution for editing on the go. The drive will also perform perfectly in high-resolution imaging, data backup or general storage applications.

Key Features

• Portable Design: The array combines the speed of a RAID 0 drive configuration with the portability of an external notebook hard drive. It features 2 2.5" SATA drives striped together. The G-RAID mini is powered by your notebook via FireWire or USB, eliminating the need for an external power source. An AC power supply is included for notebooks that cannot provide enough power to run the drive.

• 160 GB Capacity: 160 GB of capacity allows for storage of approximately 12 hours of uncompressed DV digital video, the equivalent of 34 4.7 GB DVD-Video discs or up to 40,000 MP3 files.

• Multiple Stream Playback: The G-RAID2 can play back up to seven DV25 video streams simultaneously in real time, allowing you amazing flexibility when working with your video. It also supports simultaneous playback of 4 HDV, 3 DVCPRO HD, 2 8-bit SD or 1 10-bit SD stream.

• SATA II Drives: G-Technology exclusively uses 7200 rpm SATA II drives with 8 MB cache in their enclosures, leaving no doubt that you will be receiving a quality drive in the enclosure.

• Triple Interface: The drive easily connects to any computer with a FireWire-400, FireWire-800 or USB 2.0 interface; this makes it easy to add to a variety of laptops.

• Quiet Operation: The single fan used for cooling reduces noise, helping to make your workspace a more pleasant place to spend time.

• Hot-Swappable: The drive is hot-swappable and plug-and-play, so there is no need to turn off your computer while connecting or disconnecting it.
