Each piece of Ries wood is shaped with fine-grain-finish papers, oiled, and sealed to protect the wood. All the metal hardware is custom machined of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, brass or alloys. That means you can use Ries in sand or salt water without damaging the tripod. Simply rinse it with fresh water and wipe it off afterward.
Ries tripods set up quickly. The legs are easily extended and then locked into place by a quick turn of a knob, no series of telescoping legs to screw and unscrew. The reversible inner leg offers the option of using rubber tips or spikes for stable support wherever you are.
