Distance scales assist the focusing control of unadjusted cameras. The index has to be located on the infinity mark at the distance scale corresponding to the lens used. The distance scale stage carries up to 3 scales. One each for wide angle, normal and telephoto lens. Their color corresponds with the color of the infinity stops and range finder coupling cams. For telephoto and long focus lenses the distance scale located near the front edge of the drop-bed applies. When more than three lenses are used on the camera, the scale stage may be exchanged for another one simply by pulling it off its dovetail.
