AKG C4500B-BC - Studio Condenser Microphone
Image shown is for illustrative purpose only

The C 4500 B-BC was developed to meet the demands associated with digital broadcasting. A cardioid front-address, large-diaphragm condenser microphone, the C 4500 B-BC is immune to electrostatic and magnetic fields and provides an extremely wide dynamic range and low self-noise. Features include a switchable 20dB pad and a switchable low-frequency roll-off (6 dB/octave below 120Hz). High SPL and low proximity effect make the C 4500 B a suitable solution for voice capture in either broadcast or recording applications such as voice-over recording. Internal shock mounting is provided. The C 4500 B-BC operates on all phantom power voltages.

Gold-Sputtered Diaphragm
The C 4500 B-BC features a plastic foil diaphragm, that is gold-sputtered on one side and prevents local shorts to the back electrode resulting in high audio fidelity and durability .
Cardioid Polar Pattern
The Cardioid polar pattern attenuates audio coming from the sides and off axis sections of the microphone resulting in minimal room noise and ambiance.
Preattenuation Pad Switch
Preattenuation Pad switches allow distortion free close in recording of signal that would otherwise overload, particularly at low frequencies. The pad increases the maximum SPL by 20dB.
Low Cut Filter
The Switchable bass cut filter reduces low-end distortion due to rumble and wind noise even further. The filter features a 6dB/octave slope starting at 120Hz.
Phantom Power
The C 4500 B-BC operated on any phantom power source with a positive voltage of 12, 24 or 48 VDC. The microphone also supports DC voltages between 9 and 52V.
