The DroboPro FS 8-Bay Array Enclosure from Data Robotics takes the Drobo approach to data storage and applies it to network file sharing. The powerful device connects to your network via dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, allowing any computer on the network to access media and other files stored on it.
The DroboPro FS supports many DroboApps, including the Drobo Sync utility. Drobo Sync allows you to create offsite backups of your data, perfect for use in business environments. It replicates the data from a local DroboPro FS unit to an offsite DroboPro FS, and can be configured to run on a schedule or on demand. Drobo Sync is managed through the Drobo Dashboard utility.
The enclosure supports up to 8 standard 3.5" SATA hard drives. You can configure the storage capacity of the Drobo to suit your needs; you'll even be able to mix and match drive capacities without sacrificing data protection. The array ships in a desktop configuration; an optional 3U rackmount kit is available.
- Easy Offsite Backup
- The DroboPro FS was designed with offsite backup in mind. Keep one unit in your office and a second in an offsite location, ensuring that all of your critical data is protected against both disk failure and natural disasters. Backups are done incrementally, only transferring files that have changed for maximum speed. They are verified for data integrity, and can be scheduled to run on a regular basis or done on-demand
- Dual Gigabit Ethernet
- Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports give you options when configuring the unit. You can set it up on two different subnets, giving a dedicated connection for local users to access files and a dedicated connection to communicate with an offsite backup unit. You can also connect both ports to the same network for automatic failover protection -- if one port should fail for any reason, the second will take over automatically, eliminating downtime
- No Headache Dual-Drive Redundancy
- Enable the dual-drive redundancy option to protect against the simultaneous failure of up to two hard drives. It's all done with a single click, without ever losing access to your data. Running out of space? You can click to switch back to single drive redundancy. Unlike moving between traditional RAID 5 and RAID 6, there's no need to reformat or migrate data off of the array, potentially saving you hours or days of downtime
- Rack Mount Ready, Desktop Quiet
- The DroboPro FS is equally at home in a rack mount environment as it is on your desktop. Dual smart fans automatically manage their speeds to optimize both cooling and minimize operating noise
- What is BeyondRAID?
- BeyondRAID leverages the same underlying data protection methodologies as traditional RAID, including mirroring and striping with parity; however, BeyondRAID applies these algorithms on top of a robust and flexible storage virtualization platform. This allows for the removal of the limitations and drawbacks normally associated with RAID
