The Axis Communications Q7404 Video Encoder with H.264 (4 Channels) integrates up to 4 analog cameras into an IP-based video surveillance system, and supports a wide range of PTZ cameras. In addition to supporting a resolution up to D1 (720 x 480 in NTSC / 720 x 576 in PAL) at full frame rates, the encoder delivers multiple H.264 streams and individually configurable video streams. The H.264 video compression format offers optimized bandwidth and storage efficiency by reducing the bit rate without hampering the image quality. MJPEG format is also supported for enhanced flexibility.
Featuring 2-way audio support on 1 channel, the Q7404 Video Encoder allows communication with visitors or potential intruders from the operator’s base. With half duplex audio feature, voices can be transmitted in both directions, from the sender or the receiver, but only one direction at a time. With the image setting adjustments, you can improve the image quality before the image encoding takes place. Besides, the Q7404 Video Encoder includes features such as Privacy Masking, Text and Image Overlay, Aspect Ratio Correction, Enhanced De-interlace Filter and Mirroring of Images.
Intelligent video capabilities include video motion detection and audio detection where the Q7404 Video Encoder’s inputs and outputs connect to the sensors and devices, and enable the system to retort to alarms and activate lights. Tamper Detection allows the encoder to detect and respond when it is redirected, blocked, defocused, or spray-painted, hence it is suitable for tamper-prone places such as transportation stations and prisons. Password Protection restricts access to unauthorized persons and IP filtering restricts access to 1 or more user groups. User groups can be created with an IP address range being defined for each group. The encoder supports HTTPS (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol over SSL), which protects streaming data transmission across the network.
Supporting the Axis Video Hosting System (AVHS) software with a 1-click camera connection, the Q7401 Video Encoder can create a service provider-specific portal for managing video monitoring over the network. The encoder can be connected to the video service portal via any internet based PC, laptops or mobile phones to watch live videos. VAPIX is an API (Application Programming Interface) created by Axis for cost efficiency, flexibility, scalability, and integration with other systems.
