A B&W 77mm #102 Neutral Density 0.6 Glass filter has several uses and offers the possibility to achieve otherwise unachievable results. ND filters appear grey and reduce the amount of light reaching the film. They have no effect on color balance.

Comments about B+W 77mm #102 Neutral Density (ND) 0.6 Glass Filter:
Was useful in blocking out light. Mostly for me used in video mode on my DSLR camera. The .6 ND filter allows me to expose a scene at a lower f-stop and a lower shutter speed. It bothers me to see DSLR footage (even my own) that was shot with a fast shutter. That shallow depth of field look is so trendy. But to get truly beautiful cinematic shots, you have to show with a normal shutter AND a shallow depth of field. An ND filter does that for you.
The 0.6 ND allowed me to shoot a scene with ISO 100, shutter 60, and f2.5. Without the filter I had to bring the iris to f5.0.

Comments about B+W 77mm #102 Neutral Density (ND) 0.6 Glass Filter:
This B+W basic 2-stop ND has no fancy coating whatsoever, but works, really. My G lenses have every coating they need, so I went for the basic filters. But because it's a B+W, it has top quality glass and durable ring.

Comments about B+W 77mm #102 Neutral Density (ND) 0.6 Glass Filter:
This was my first B+W filter, and it will not be the last. It is very sturdy, well made, and fit perfectly on my lens. I appreciated it having threads on the front, to allow for stacking filters. An ND filter is a must have for every lens in your bag for anyone doing Landscape Photography. This one is a great tool for the money, which makes it a great value.

Comments about B+W 77mm #102 Neutral Density (ND) 0.6 Glass Filter:
This is a great filter for making video look less "electronic" and more film-like. I use it when shooting outdoors in bright light, and I often use it with a polarizing filter. In addition to improving the image, it acts as a kind of ND filter, allowing me to shoot at a lower shutter speed, which is great for timelapses.

I use this filter on my EF 24-70 and 70-200 when shooting with strobes in bright light to get a shorter DOF. Both the optics and constructions are great!

I bought this to replace a lower-end filter, I greatly prefer this one. The other caused somewhat softer images, bit the case with this B+W filter.

Comments about B+W 77mm #102 Neutral Density (ND) 0.6 Glass Filter:
I bought this to use for midday shots when I needed to soften the look of Fall Creek Falls, and I liked being able to couple it with the 0.3 ND filter to get the desired look. Otherwise, it provides great light control without affecting the color.
Comments about B+W 77mm #102 Neutral Density (ND) 0.6 Glass Filter:
I use this filter for my canon standard lenses to balance my outdoor shuttertime while using a flash. I also use it to increase my shuttertime to motion blur subjects. It´s a good gadget to have. You might get a similar effect with a polarizing filter, but the light setting might change, if you are flashing from a certain angle.
