I'm with everyone else that was confused about what to do with the Deadcat when I pulled it out of the package. I just switched to the Rode VideoMic Pro from a Sennheiser MKE 400 w/ a Windmuff and was disappointed by Rode's lack of effort given to the customer's experience. I tried it with the foam and without and then googled how to install the Deadcat. The fit is terrible, but it does help with wind. If they don't want to include instuctions, maybe they should build a dead cat that has the foam insert built into to take away any confusion and allow the user to feel comfortable that it is doing its job.

Comments about Rode DeadCat VMP Wind Muff for VideoMic Pro:
I use this to muffle wind during outside interviews. Generally good in usage, but the velcro is too wide to hold on firmly to the mic, and it keeps slipping off.

This is not a big pricy investment, but for the money, we noticed a difference in playback sound quality when shooting outdoors.

I video quite a bit outdoors and the Deadcat windscreen does an exceptional job in cutting down the wind noise. It's custom fit for the Rode Videomic pro. Great investment for outdoor shoots.

Sounds like it muffles the Audio at times! Fits awkwardly on the mic also.

Comments about Rode DeadCat VMP Wind Muff for VideoMic Pro:
I live in a very windy area and do mostly outdoor recordings.
I found that the Deadcat does a good of reducing wind noise, but it was not as good as I was expecting.
After some initial practice I am getting pretty clean recordings now.
One thing I think the product should include is an instruction manual as it is not clear when you receive the product if you should install it over the foam pop shield or directly over the mic without the foam. (there is no information on the Rode website either about this)
When it is installed over the foam, I get the feeling that the size of the Deadcat is not quite big enough as the fit is not great.
Over all though, this is not something that takes away from the functionality of the product.

Unlike others, mine fit very well and was rather easy to slip on. Haven't had it in super strong winds but it did work well in a light wind/breeze. it doesn't look really durable but has held up great thus far.

I shoot DSLR weddings and video professionally. This is a terrible fit for the VideoMic Pro. Therefor it does not block all the wind. Thinking about buying the Rycote and hoping that is better.

Comments about Rode DeadCat VMP Wind Muff for VideoMic Pro:
It fits the Rode VideoMic Pro well. It may help in wind (I haven't had the opportunity to try it in high wind). And it looks really cheap and I'm skeptical that it will last long. But what's the alternative? You gotta pay up, cheap or not.

Comments about Rode DeadCat VMP Wind Muff for VideoMic Pro:
Given that it was made for the rodemic, I expected a perfect fit. Instead, I you have to tug a bit to get it all the way on, and even then there's a bit of a strange situation with the velcro flap. I'll probably keep it on all the time, as it was such a pain to get it on in the first place. That said, so far it works fine and is solidly constructed.

Doesn't cover whole VideoMic Pro?
Haven't had in a windy environment yet. May well be okay, however a little sceptical as only physically covers 2/3 of mic?
