Aquatica Pro Digital Underwater Housing for Nikon D3S / D3X / D3 DSLR (TTL)

The Aquatica Pro Digital Underwater Housing f/Nikon D3S / D3X / D3 DSLR (TTL) is a durable waterproof case that allows you to shoot underwater with your Nikon D3S / D3X / D3 DSLR camera. A port is required but not included with the housing. Machined from a single aluminum block and featuring double o-ring seals on the knobs and levers, the housing is depth rated to 300' (91 m). It gives access to all essential camera controls. A moisture alarm with visual and audio warning is included and installed at the factory.

The Set / Record lever is in an easily accessible position due to its vital role when shooting video. An oversized Live View access button is located right under the Set / Record lever, for a quick and precise reaction sequence when shooting video. The AF / AE autofocus lever features a locking collar to eliminate the tendency of the lever to be pushed back in by the water pressure when working at depth. The single 5-pin active TTL type strobe connector is fully TTL flash compatible and ready to accept the Ikelite #4301 or 4301.2 TTL converter only. Manual exposure is possible by switching the Ikelite 4301/4301.2 converter to manual. The info button is fully accessible via a conveniently angled push button.

All knobs are oversized and knurled to give a positive feel, even through the thickest cold water gloves. The internal focus / zoom control knob assembly is designed to allow the camera and lens (with zoom / focus gear attached) to slide out quickly for swift replacement of the battery. The housing features a Lens Release Lever (key # 17) that is designed to access the lens release button on the camera, to allow for easy removal of the lens.

The housing accepts a complete selection of bayonet-mounted dome ports of 4", 6", 8" and 9.25" diameters, 3 flat ports, and a wide range of extension rings to preserve the image quality of your Nikon Mount AF / autofocus lenses. Depending on whether you've decided to shoot macro or wide angle photography, you will be installing either a flat Macro Port (product # 18426, 18428 or 18429), or a Dome Port (Product # 18405, 18407, 18409 or 18410). Macro Ports will accept the AF and AF-S Micro-Nikkor 60 mm lens without extension, while a longer lens will require an additional extension ring. A comprehensive list of the lenses supported and their required extensions and/or accessories is supplied along with the instruction manual that comes with this housing. In order to reduce glare, maximize contrast and offer physical protection to the dome, the use of a dome shade is highly recommended. Also available to purchase separately is a complete line of lens gears including Auto / Manual focus selector gears and related accessories.

The housing comes with 2 grips (1 right and 1 left handed), which should be installed on either side of the housing with the supplied screws and Allen key. There are 1/4"-20 threaded holes on top of the hand grips, for attaching strobes via strobe arms. The AQUATICA TLC strobe arm system is recommended. There are also three 1/4"-20 threaded holes on the bottom of the housing that can be used for mounting various application trays. There is also another hole on the front of the housing for mounting accessories. Along with the standard viewfinder, the housing comes with the Aqua View Finder, a focusing tool which offers a 100% viewing area and has a hard-anodized aluminum body for durability and corrosion-resistance.
