I purchased this lens cap to replace one that I lost on vacation. It fits perfect and certainly functions as advertised. However, it lacks the center grip that is part of the design of the Nikon brand lens cap. The center grip is convenient for removing the lens cap while a lens hood is mounted to the lens. The side grips on this lens cap prevents this. Otherwise, this is a great lens cap (and cheaper than the Nikon brand).
