The GT40N Super-Multi DVD Rewriter from LG is a slim DVD rewriter that was made to fit notebook computers. This LG rewriter has the ability to read and write various formats of both CD and DVD discs. It features a running optimized power control circuit, which allows this LG rewriter to monitor power and reflection of the media in use, calculate the optimum laser power and adjust it in real-time for a better quality burn.
It also features buffer under-run prevention. Buffer under-run occurs when the computer's data transfer speed cannot keep up with the rewriter's write speed, resulting in an unusable disc. With an embedded buffer under-run prevention function, this LG rewriter has the ability to pause and wait for the computer to catch up, which ensures that the disc is burned correctly.

- This DVD rewriter is made to fit notebook computers. It is also compatible with three different types of DVD, which are DVD+R, RW DVD-R and RW DVD-RAM. This DVD rewriter gives you the option to choose the media best suited for the task 1
- Serial ATA Technology
- Serial ATA is a 1.5GB/s evolutionary replacement for the Parallel ATA physical storage interface used to connect storage devices, such as hard disks, DVD and CD rewriters to the PC motherboard. Serial ATA is scalable, fits computers with smaller form factors (i.e., notebooks) and will allow future enhancements to the computing platform
