Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 for Windows (Upgrade from CS5) allows you to upgrade your Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 to Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5. The real-time, timeline based video editing software allows you to edit faster with true native format support, provides cross-platform editing workflow, and streamlines collaboration.
Featuring expanded support for Adobe Mercury Playback Engine GPU cards, the Premiere Pro CS5.5 can be used on workstations as well as laptops. In addition to using customizable, preset keyboard shortcuts identical to Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer, the software can import and export Final Cut Pro and Avid projects.
Premiere Pro CS5.5 enables you to open large projects up to 10 times faster, and freely blend camera formats such as AVCHD, P2, XDCAM, RED, ProHD, Canon XF, and DSLR in the timeline. The software offers native support for tapeless and DSLR camera formats such as RED R3D, XDCAM 50, AVCCAM, P2, AVCHD, AVC-Intra, Canon XF, and JVC ProHD, without the need to transcode or rewrap.
Providing enhanced Canon XF native support, Premiere Pro CS5.5 uses camera metadata all through your preproduction and post-production workflow, and enables you to preview Canon XF footage in the Media Browser panel. The software offers expanded RED support as well as native RED EPIC camera support.
Using the Merged Clips feature, you can save editing time as the dual-system sound support allows you to swiftly match audio and video tracks recorded on different devices and media. Premiere Pro CS5.5 offers closed captions display in timeline (U.S. broadcast standard only), enabling you to play back as well as display 608 and 708 closed captions, which are linked to your video sequence and viewable in the Program monitor.
You can speed up the editing workflow by directly importing Adobe Story scripts along with the metadata. Premiere Pro CS5.5 provides script-based editing and direct integration with Adobe Story. Metadata features such as face detection allow you to quickly find content while Speech Analysis and other metadata features enable you to save time by swiftly finding footage. Providing integration with Adobe Audition CS5.5, the software offers expanded audio-for-video editing workflow and a flexible roundtrip audio workflow.
Premiere Pro CS5.5 provides streamlined collaboration with Adobe CS Review, using optimized Adobe Media Encoder presets for outputting clips and sequences for computers, smartphones, tablets, and television. In addition to drag-and-drop encoding, the software offers an enhanced watch folder workflow, improved user interface, and automatic still image sequencing. It alerts you when Adobe Media Encoder finishes jobs in the background.
Featuring speed change effects, functions such as GPU-accelerated time remapping, speed change, and backwards effects allow you to play clips backwards, and you can create high-quality slow motion or fast motion. The software offers blur effects, field options control, and GPU-accelerated transitions. You can modify the clip properties via GPU-accelerated effects, and control frame rate, aspect ratio, field order, alpha channels, and pulldown removal.
