Comments about Rode Boompole Cips (Pack of 5):
I haven't used these or the boom pole yet, but the previous attempt with a tripod resulted in many lost takes and cable issues.
The boom pole and clips are a little more expensive than gaffer tape, but will look more professional and work easily.

Comments about Rode Boompole Cips (Pack of 5):
These are basic plastic rings that attach to a boom pole and hold XLR cabling.
These don't work well with the Rode Micro Boom Pole: the clips fit the middle section of the pole, but the upper section is too thin, and the clips don't attach to them.
Note that these don't work well for mini cables: I'm using the Rode Video Mic Pro which takes 3.5mm plug and the Rode 10' Stereo Mini cable -- so the part of the clips that hold the cable are too big and don't hold the mini cable in place. If you are using a standard mic with XLR cable, you won't have a problem.
