Comments about Midland GXT760VP4 2-Way Compact Communication Radio (Pair):
This set of 2-way radios was a great bargain. Expecting more than a great bargain would be a mistake.
I work live production seminars and these radios do not cut it for this application. I need radios with an ability to pick up quite voices of those wearing them, in a quiet room so as not to disturb the presentation. These radios do not pick up quiet voices, even when the mic's are placed extreemly close to the mouth.
The 'acknowladgement' sound is fiercely loud compared to the voice volume comming accross the radio, which leaves your ear almost ringing after a quiet message.
I have taken these radios to the dog park for testing without any problems: the pickup of the voice of the user is excellent, even in fierce wind, when the user vocalizes at a decent volume (not quietly).
The transmission button half way up the headset cord is a great advantage and works very well.
The mic's on the headset pick up almost zero wind noise. I was in fierce 35 and 45 mph winds and was still able to communicate well with the other radio.
These radios are meant to be used for recreational use, and cannot pickup quiet vocalizations from the user in delicate situations.

bought these to keep in touch with my other deer hunter friends. granted we are all within 2 miles of each other but it is all woods , not a bit of static its just like I'm standing next to them ( except a couple hunters who use different radios that don't seem to get out over half a mile). the included mike and ear buds with a push to talk button work well.have no idea what the call tones are for though lol very pleased with these hand helds
