I would so like to give this five stars... but, and as other reviewers have mentioned, the little magnetized "foot" they include... well, it looks nice standing up but isn't really only a visual deal because it falls off rather easily... ... I'll continue to fight it for the insert and removal of cards because it does "store" easier on my already messy desk with the stand...
That aside, I love this new reader. I had the Sandisk Extreme readers before (still do too...) but this new reader made for the newer faster cards is significantly quicker for transfers to the computer.
Overall I'm very pleased with the new reader, I do like the way it stands on it's little "ill attached" stand and the transfer speed is fantastic...!

This is real stylish. Looks good and operates as one would expect. Then there is that construction problem. The second day the metal strip on the bottom of the unit (card reader) stayed with the magnet which is part of the base. The unit comes in three pieces, cord, base and the reader unit. The cord is very stiff and I have confidence that the cord will not break. The base is constructed of a three legged stand with a magnet and two detents to hold the reader (unit) in place. On the bottom of the reader (unit) is a strip of metal that can and did separate because of the poor adhesive. Keep the superglue handy. That is why I can give only a three stars. I would refer this to a friend

I've always liked sandisk products, this is the first one that is bad out the box...the older generation of readers(the black one) was way tougher than this little thing. the CF card bay is super shallow and the pins that connect are weak...if you are not carefull pulling out your card you will bend the connector pins and your reader will be useless. this is a design flaw imho...
other than that it is super fast...

Seems to work great so far after a few uses. I use it to transer my video files from my HMC 150 camera to the computer. The USB 3.0 is way faster than 2.0. It is pretty light and likely to tip over with the included stand, but not a big deal. I could see how the cable woulb be short for some set ups, but it is just long enough for me.

I bought the reader together with Extreme Pro CompactFlash & Extreme Pro Class 10 UHS-I SDHC cards. A perfect match to serve my D800 well. Same recommendation as the memory cards: a must-have for modern DSLR/ EVIL users.

THIS CARD READER IS CHEAP PLASTIC CONSTRUCTION THAT IS UNLIKE MY OTHER SANDISK PRODUCTS.IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT SANDISK WOULD ACTUALLY DESIGN THE STAND THAT CANNOT BE USED AS THE READER JUST FALLS OFF !! ALMOST INSULTING THAT SANDISK WOULD ACTUALLY EXPECT THAT ITS CUSTOMERS
WOULD ACCEPT THIS POORLEY DESIGNED DEVICE. I RETURNED IT AND PURCHASED THE LEXAR PRO READER.

Primary use is with SDHC cards that I use with Sony PMW-EX1 and Canon Vixia.
Handles a wide variety of cards and can take advantage of USB3.
It's a simple, flexible, rock solid device. It's small compact design allows one it easily stow it away without cluttering desktop.
The only drawback is it's magnetic connection to the base makes it a bit easy to topple over.

The card reader works fine. The speed is good, but the stand is basically useless, pretty bad design and engineering as it really can't stand upright as advertised.

Comments about SanDisk ImageMate All-in-One USB 3.0 Reader / Writer SDDR-289-A20:
Nice clean white case. Particularly like how it lights up the slot currently connected to the PC. Much faster than my old USB 2.0 card reader. Base attaches magnetically onto the reader; did not have difficulty keeping the reader on the base. Only fault I can think of is the bottom edge of the face plate is not smooth like the rest of the surfaces. Can clearly see the rough edge, but performance wise it is great.

I transfer hundreds of MegaBytes (MB) daily using this card reader. Performance seems good.
The stand, if that is what it is, is completely useless. It should magnetically attach to the bottom of the reader. The stand was tried, immediately fell off, and then was discarded.
I would not buy this product again, regardless of performance. It looks like "clutter" without a sturdy stand or platform.

Plugged this into my USB 3 port and it screams as it downloads from my Sandisk CF cards. I shoot 14-bit raw and download to a primary and backup folder at the same time with Adobe Bridge. WAY faster than USB 2
