Pretty much you need this RAM upgrade to get your iMac to run at its best. Especially if you edit with Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro like me.

The thing that you need to know is that once you put it into the spare RAM slots in the iMac one of 2 things will happen:

-It will be installed right and the computer will boot up with no problems.

or

-The iMac will beep and you will think you're computer is broken.

I would suggest to watch something on youtube to see how to install into the iMac properly. Because you need to know that the computer has to be disconnected from power all together to install RAM.

Also, once you put in the RAM, push it in farther. You are gonna have to push it in really hard to the point where your fingers feel like they'll get cut in half. ANd just before you think you're gonna start bleeding, you will feel the RAM install properly. If it isn't installed correctly your computer will beep and then you'll have to re-install it.
