One of the most appealing aspects of small mirrorless cameras like the Sony NEX cameras is the availability of a wide range of interchangeable lenses, including non-Sony lenses. This Bower ABANEXEOS Adapter for Canon EOS Lens to Sony NEX Camera with Aperture makes it possible to mount a Canon EF lens to your NEX-3, NEX-5 or NEX-7 camera with a precision mechanical adapter. This adapter has an aperture, which offers manual adjustment of exposure. This adapter does not transfer functions such as auto focus from the camera to the lens, so all lens operations (focus, aperture control) are manual.

Comments about Bower ABANEXEOS Adapter with Aperture for Canon EOS Lens to Sony NEX Camera:
I use it with Sony FS-100 and I must to explain to anyone, who do not know the FACT: This adapter is PERFECT, but aperture WORK ONLY WITH super-fast lenses with Aperture F1.2, F1.4 and F1.8 !! I was test it with any of Canon lenses, and if you use it with lenses like 16-35L , 24-70L, or 70-200L/ 2.8 - DO NOT USE it's aperture ! You will get seriose vigneting! But with fast lenses I'm able to close it to more then 6 points - to complete darkness!
( sorry for my English :) )

Comments about Bower ABANEXEOS Adapter with Aperture for Canon EOS Lens to Sony NEX Camera:
I used this on my new Nex 7 and 5n before that. It has a laft-right movement of a few centimeters.I keep it at one or another end of that wobble without any problem. But it can be disconcerting. I have a German Novoflex for Leica lenses which is as sturdy as the lenses. No worry ever. The Japanese adapter does its job with numbers on its barrel "1" for wide open, "6" for shut way down. There is a bit of barreling but nothing too serious on the Nex. I would be very careful using a heavy lens on it to connect to so light a body. The Canon 100mm macro is about as far as I would normally want to go with it. But the 70-200 is 2.8 on a tripod via its own collar would probably give excellent results.

Comments about Bower ABANEXEOS Adapter with Aperture for Canon EOS Lens to Sony NEX Camera:
It's a nice adapter - very sturdy awesome aperture control (though hard to read) however, it vignettes on long lenses - I'd say almost 40-50% of the view was covered on my 75-300 zoom.

I got this with my Sony FS100 so I can make use of all the Canon EOS lenses I have. While this adapter offers manual iris control, it does vignette after a certain point. An earlier review mentions the Tokina 11-16mm, which is one of the lenses I have been using with it. Just don't stop down that much and you're all set! Not perfect, but gets the job done.

I'm returning this immediately. Using it on my Tokina 11-16 mm lens with my FS-100 it vignettes as you iris down so badly as to be unusable.

Expensive but worth it! Works great with my NEX-FS100U. Now all my Canon primes are fully usable.
