The Signature Series Bass and Drums Collection from Waves brings together nine custom processing chains designed by four leading producer/engineers. Each has developed an extensive palette of personal processing techniques, which are encapsulated in these Signature Series plug-ins.

The Maserati B72 Bass Phattene features two distinct starting places for a large variety of music styles. The 'DI' setting on an electric or acoustic bass enhances the roundness, while keeping it lively throughout the song. The 'Synth' setting imparts thickness, stereo spread and harmonic flavor.

The Maserati DRM Drum Slammer was designed to help the excitement of percussive transients get heard through mixes which are thick with instrumentation and vocals. Whether on programmed or live drums, DRM is a great starting point for a mix.

The Eddie Kramer Bass Channel was designed with the idea to create a fat bass sound with a lot of presence that cuts through a mix without being overbearing. In general, the low-mid frequencies are accentuated, so it really pops on radio mixes. The plug-in comes in two flavors, one which is less compressed, for a more dynamic sound that has room to breathe, and the other a more aggressive sound with increased compression.

The Eddie Kramer Drum Channel plug-in really captures the essence of Kramer's drum sounds, delivering either a huge Zep-like sound with loads of atmosphere, or something more dry and down-to-earth like the Stones, or a heavily-compressed, squashed, Hendrix-type sound. There are individual modes for bass drums, snares, and so on, allowing the user to create their own hybrid drum kits.

CLA Drums provides six different modes - Kick, Snare, Toms, Overheads, Room and Cowbell. There are three color-coded presets for bass EQ, treble EQ, compression, and reverb, plus a noise gate for getting rid of leakage. The faders control the amount of each effect and especially important for drums, a phase switch is included.

CLA Bass was designed to assist in laying down a solid foundation for any song, from sub-shaking smooth sounds to "Mr. Buzzsaw". The plug-in offers six essential effects - bass, treble, compression, sub, distortion, and chorus/flange.

The JJP Bass addresses different bass needs for different tracks. Sometimes what is required is a great bottom, other times something with more mid-range that cuts through a mix. Or perhaps adding a bit of distortion, or shaping the sound with a nice bell EQ, using some compression and gate to lock it with the kick drum. It can even be used on a hip hop drum track as a sub enhancer.

JJP Drums covers all the basic needs of drum mixing while also providing the ability to enhance the tracks even further. Maybe there's some tonality in the drum kit that needs to be emphasized. Or how do the drums relate to the rest of the song? The plug-in can do it all.

The JJP Cymbals and Percussion plug-in provides basic cymbal and percussion processing, including adding some Lo-Fi effect to fatten up shakers, or taking out the mid-range on tambourines to make them sound brighter, or adding some dirt and distortion to make them sound grittier. Or boost the high end to enhance the shimmer of the cymbals or compress them hard, to bring out other aspects of their sound.
