The Series 9 11.6" Notebook Computer from Samsung is a sleek, ultraportable notebook computer. Made of duralumin, a lightweight, durable alloy, this notebook weighs only 2.34 pounds and is a great choice for those who are frequently on-the-go. The computer is less than three-quarters-of-an-inch thick when closed and can operate for up to 5.7 hours on battery power.
The computer features a widescreen 11.6" LED-backlit display that has an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a native resolution of 1366 x 768. It has a brightness rating of 340 cd/m² and supports up to 16 million colors. Because of its brightness rating as well as an antiglare finish, the high definition display can be viewed in direct sunlight with no annoying reflections. For navigating on the notebook, you can utilize the backlit keyboard as well as the intuitive multi-touch "SuperButton clickpad", which supports up to twenty-one types of gestures.
The system is powered by a dual-core 1.3GHz Intel Core i3-2357M CPU. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 efficiently processes all of your visuals without soaking up battery power. The notebook can also multitask quickly with 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM and quickly access stored data from the 128GB solid state drive. For connecting to the Internet, this notebook features 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi as well as a Gigabit Ethernet port. For wireless peripherals, it supports Bluetooth 3.0+HS. For multimedia and web-conferencing, there are two 1.5W stereo speakers, a 1.3MP webcam that can operate in low light, and a built-in microphone. The notebook is outfitted with a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, a micro-HDMI port, and a Micro SD Card Slot. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

I carry this around town & also use it for research. I need a small laptop to carry with me during the day that has the ability to work like a real computer. I bought this because I run Adobe Acrobat & MS Office & need to manage large files easily. It does all this & works like a charm on the internet too. I haven't noticed problems finding signals like others mentioned. The only down side is I'm afraid this will be stolen if I leave it unattended. I'm still looking for the perfect sleeve or case for it. It's an odd size. Also, there was not too much junk preloaded on the machine when it arrived, but there was some.

I've only had my new machine for a few weeks and it's been pretty good. The light weight, the backlit keyboard and the fast boot-up are really great! I have to buy a special cable and adaptor to hook up to my large external monitor; it would have been nice if this had "come with". I can't seem to enable hibernation, and in sleep mode the battery will drain a fair amount so I want hibernation to work. Furthermore, the battery is not charging past 79% which puzzles me. Hopefully, that can be resolved.
