The Acoustics Research ARS28i App-Enhanced Portable Audio System & Docking Station for iPad offers app-enhancement to take portable audio system to the next level. With the app download from the Apple App Store, you'll add touch screen volume control, a customizable EQ, brightness settings, an FM tuner, and an alarm clock with snooze and sleep function. Plus, with the alarm, you'll be able to wake to the radio, a standard alarm or a playlist from your iPad, iPod or iPhone. The ARS28i dock even features a motorized 90° rotation for push button switching between landscape and portrait orientations.
Besides charging your device while it's docked and/or playing, the ARS28i dock features a component output for sharing your iPad, iPod or iPhone video content with friends and family on your TV. The portable audio system also comes with a remote control for convenience and boasts a high-performance 10W speaker as well. For increased compatibility, the ARS28i is outfitted with six dock adapters, which makes the dock compatible with the Apple iPad and iPad 2; the iPhone and iPhone 3G/3GS/4; the iPod touch 1st-4th generations, iPod classic 1st-2nd generations and iPod nano 1st-6th generations.

This is perfect if you are looking for a small tabletop or bedside dock, that charges the device, & provides amplified audio so you don't have to rely on the earbuds, or device's built-speaker. It is very compact, & has the ability to rotate the device in landscape mode if you wish, which I prefer. The only drawback is the sound quality itself. This is NOT for audiophiles, or for you guys who want to blast your music at turbo room-filling volume! If you want something like that, you will have to get something else for sure. The app download you use is basic & simple to use as well. It provides the FM tuner and an interface for your device should you want to use that. It does nothing fancy, and the EQ settings are minimal at best, but for web surfing, YouTube vids, or watching your favorite team's game on MLB.com, or just some nice background music to goto sleep with, or to use on your desk at work, this is the dock for you.
