If you want to securely save data across multiple servers in a iSCSI SAN environment, the Drobo 24TB B1200i iSCI SAN Storage Enclosure (12x 2TB SAS Hard Drives) is a powerful, 12-bay, easy-to-use means of doing so. This Drobo includes twelve enterprise-class 2TB hard disk drives that have the blisteringly SAS 6Gbps interface and that offer a total capacity of 24TB. Even with these drives, the enclosure's capacity can be constantly expanded because its twelve drive bays can hold SATA I or II, SAS, or SSD drives of up to 4TB apiece.
Built on the proven BeyondRAID technology, this Drobo delivers advanced capabilities such as thin provisioning and data-aware tiering, usually reserved for more expensive enterprise solutions. Thin-provisioning allows you to expand capacity by switching out one drive with another. Data-aware tiering is a technology that optimizes the use of Drobo SAN storage, depending on the kind of database needs that you have. It also allows you to use SAS, SATA, Solid State drives all in the same enclosure!
For business, this Drobo is designed to provide reliable and high performance storage to servers running business-critical applications such as back up, email, and server virtualization. Drobo B1200i connects seamlessly to your existing TCP/IP network and utilizes the industry-standard iSCSI protocol to provide simple, consolidated storage for your servers. This particular Drobo includes three Gigabit Ethernet ports for connecting to your network and one additional Gigabit port for out-of-band management.
