The OCZ 480GB RevoDrive 3 PCI-Express Solid State Drive offers transfer speeds up to 1 GB/s, and allows up to 130000 IOPS with 4K random write. It features full height form factor, and utilizes a SuperScale storage controller to offer read and write speeds of up to 1000 MB/s and 925 MB/s respectively. In addition to native trim support, the SSD offers shock resistance up to 1500 G.
Additionally, the RevoDrive 3 PCI-Express SSD supports VCA 2.0 (Virtualized Controller Architecture) that increases the overall performance of the SSD. It features DMA (Direct Memory Access) and data management functions, and utilizes MLC NAND flash. The onboard processing core manages the exclusive command queuing and queue balancing algorithms offered by the VCA 2.0, and minimizes the burden on the host resources.
With TRIM and SCSI unmap support, the VCA 2.0 offers SMART support that enables the system administrators for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting device attributes with advanced features. Eliminating the SATA/SAS bottleneck, the RevoDrive 3 PCI-Express SSD offers compatibility with Windows Vista 32/64, and Windows 7 32/64. It is suitable for media development and management applications, and can be used for HPC (High Performance Computing) or workstation workloads with a single-card solution.
