I put a data doubler in my macbook pro with a SSD hard drive. This left me without an optical drive. At first i went to OWC and picked up their external enclosure to home the optical drive that i removed from the macbook pro. Their solution was absolutely terrible! The enclosure was way over priced and extremely cheaply made for what it was.
I sent it back immedielty and ordered this product for a few dollars more. It came with the drive already installed in the enclosure and a nifty little bag to keep the enclosure and wires in. Since most people who have a need for something like this are usually operating out of a backpack its an ideal solution.
I would recommend this product to anyone for the price and quality. It works great on the fly. I use it in night clubs to rip DVD's as I'm doing visual performances.
