I would not call this a protective shell. [*] the plastic is thin and it moves slightly on the camera body. I see it protecting the camera from minor bumps and scratches but nothing more.I wish it was 4x as thick and a bit firmer material.

I put on the skin right after I tool the camera out of the box. The reason why I never take it of is because there is no need to. I can access al of the ports and buttons of the camera. I like have the skin because it makes the grip a bit thicker and that let's you have more control and a hold of the camera at times. This skin let's you worry less about the camera getting scratched or buttom and more about getting the shots you want to take.

nice product covers buttons and they are still easy to use...
but the fit is anything but snug, if it came in sizes like small medium and large it would need to be a size smaller...
