Why worry about getting lost in the woods when the Back-Track D-TOUR GPS from Bushnell is a personal location finder and digital compass utilizing GPS technology that lets you know where you are all the time. The D-TOUR stores up to five locations - just mark it and forget it until it's time to return. At the end of the hike, select your location and the Back-Track D-TOUR displays direction and distance in either yards/miles or meters/kilometers. Use it to find your car in a crowded parking lot, your tree stand, secret fishing spot, trailhead, campsite or the rendezvous place with your group. Self-calibrating digital compass, military or civilian time, Fahrenheit or Celsius temperature, altitude and latitude/longitude coordinates are all built in features.
The D-TOUR uploads 48 hours worth of data to a Windows PC XP SP1 or later or a MAC 10.4.9 or later, to analyze your trip or to re-live the experience another time, alone or with friends. The software and USB cable is included and the recordings can be overlaid onto Google maps. Extremely compact and light at just 6 ounces this GPS personal location finder stows conveniently in your pocket, pack or purse. The Back-Track D-TOUR GPS is powered by 3 user-supplied AAA batteries.

* Price. Since the D-TOUR is a no-frills GPS, it is priced well below higher end models that can be $300+. The D-TOUR's MSRP is $119. That's a great deal given it's functionality.
* Easy to use software. I really enjoyed uploading trip data and looking at the path of my journeys, average speed, elevation profiles, temperature readings at various points along the trip, and more. The software is simple and easy to use.
* Battery power. The D-TOUR runs on 3 AAA batteries (not included) that I found lasted for about 20 hours, which is great for day hike use.
* Buttons unlikely to depress accidentally. The D-TOUR is well designed so as it rests in your pocket or backpack, it is unlikely you'll mistakenly hit a button. The buttons require you to press and hold them.
Cons:
* Only 48 hours of trip data can be stored. This is definitely enough memory for day hikers, joggers, and even an overnight backpacking trip. But for those of you who like multi-day hiking or camping trips, you'll find this feature frustrating.

We camp and ride horses .When we arrive at a new place ill mark were the trailer is. Then while out will check to find the way back. When we get to a computer I love to down load the map and you can see all the different turns and roads and elevation time speed temp . I lov it. Easy to read and use.

This is great! Store 5 waypoints with visible coordinates, digital compass, time of day and the ability to save the path you've taken then view it on your computer overlaid on a satellite map showing time, elevation, distance etc. Awesome! I use it while hunting to find my way back to 5 different waypoints, that's enough for me. It's a fraction the size of other GPS units, even has a light in the display for night use.

Use while hunting and trail riding. Mark location of my vehicle while hunting and can return at low light within 10 feet. Also used when scouting new location to hunt or ride off road. Can mark up to 4 location and save for later used 5th location to mark where parked. Can use trip mode to map out route for trails or hunting spots with software downloaded. Would recommend to anyone who likes outdoors, haven't tried the digital compass.

Got this GPS as an easy alternative to larger handheld units with lots of features we didn't need. It's simple and very easy to use. Gets you from point A to point B using directions as the bird flies.
Also lets you record where you went and plug it in over google maps.
I've been able to use it several times running now to view my current speed and total distance traveled. Takes about 2-3 minutes to warm up but not bad overall.
