The Sony PRS-T1 Wi-Fi Reader (Red) has a number of things going for it, not the least of which is its Wi-Fi connectivity. Supported browsers include IE, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. Another great aspect of this feature is access to the public library for wireless lending. EPUB, PDF, and Text formats are all supported - whether the books are transferred to the device wirelessly or not.
In contrast to its predecessor, the PRS-T1 is lighter and smaller, making it easier to carry wherever you go. The 6" screen also provides the option to use two fingers when navigating the touch screen. This feature allows you to utilize scroll, rotate, pinch open and close, and secondary right click functions. Of course you can still choose to use the included stylus for navigation or hand writing. Using the buttons at the bottom of the screen is an option as well. Additionally, a quick response virtual keyboard is at your disposal.
When it comes to the actual reading, the PRS-T1 features what Sony calls a "natural experience" display that's easy on the eyes. The E Ink Pearl E-Paper mimics real paper, which allows you to read as long as you wish. And with the long-life battery that lasts up to a month - with the wireless turned off - you can do just that! Having enough reading material to last that long isn't an issue either. The PRS-T1 allows for content purchasing and sharing from the Sony Reader Store, other tethered and wireless devices you own, the public library, and online aggregators.

As an owner of the PRS 900 (the first Daily edition) I had quite high expectations for the T1. I read lots of reviews and was quite frankly prepared to be disappointed. I must say I was not. This is a great reader, the few bugs one may encounter will be addressed by Sony (a firmware update was promised) and are easily worked around by restarting the reader (which is quite fast :)
The reader offers a great experience - reading is very much a pleasure, the browser works great and offers windows (three of them, no more) which surprised me. It has cyrillic support (in books, too, you can change the font to one that has cyrillic, most of them do, except for Verdana and the Original).
The battery life is good with WiFi on (over a week, using it a couple of times every day).
The new dictionary function (tap and hold as opposed to double tap) is actually quite convenient.
I'm in love with the new readder though I still like my old one...

I love that you can download directly from the local library - no need to buy anything, reading can always be free! I went from a Pandigital Novel to this and just love the small size. The only thing I miss is the built in light, with this it is like reading a book, if dark you need the light turned on. Also would like to share that I had a problem with the pages turning on their own, called Sony and they walked me through downloading something that corrected the problem immediately - their service center is great!

Comments about Sony PRS-T1 Wi-Fi Reader (Red):
I am new to the e-reader market, but purchased this model because of the positive comments regarding the ease of using lending libraries. I must say, the PRS T1 does make it simple! Just a few quick taps of the screen, and a digital library is at my fingertips. I love the size and weight. The screen is easy on the eyes. I am glad I purchased the cover as it makes the reader handle more like a paper book. I am a bit concerned that I have already had to re-set the reader once, after having used it only a few hours. I hope that this isn't going to be a frequent problem as I understand some of the downloaded materials can be lost during reset. If anyone knows why this occurs, please let me know (it went to the white "power-up"screen with the circular arrows symbol frozen. I was unable to turn it off using the power button).

I love this reader - it's my first - except for a 10 day stint with a Nook that froze and I wasn't going to keep because it does not allow you to print notes.
Printing notes is one of the big reasons I picked this reader. Unfortunately things like the Reader for PC software prevent me from giving it 5 stars.
Easy access to download books from the library is also fantastic.
I was stuck on getting the red reader which works since I'm comfortable holding it in my hands - wouldn't have waited for the red if I was going to skin it or use a book cover.

All I want from an e-reader. Easy to use, light-weight and fast. Good contrast. Prop it up for reading at meals. No pages to blow about outdoors. Comfortable to read in bed at any angle. I also like the simple but smart cover. Got 2 more as gifts. Had an earlier e-reader for 2 years and this is so much nicer.
