The SVGA resolution BenQ MS500 3D Ready DLP Projector is a powerful, versatile projector that displays beautiful, vivid pictures thanks to its Texas Instruments DLP imaging panel. DLP panels not only make vibrant, crystal clear images but they don't require filters that have to be periodically cleaned and changed.
With 2500 ANSI lumens at a crisp 4000:1 contrast ratio, those images will be vivid and detailed and even if you can't achieve theater-level darkness in your projection venue. The MS500 also has four picture modes specialized for brightly lit rooms, presentations, viewing photos and watching movies plus two "user" modes that allow you to save your own picture preferences. It's 3D ready as well when used with a 3D equipped computer and compatible shutter glasses. Just imagine adding this immersive element to your presentations.
But the MS500 can do a lot more than make beautiful pictures. Weighing in at only 5.5 lb. (2.5kg), there's a good chance it may do some traveling and it won't have to be limited to domestic flights. It's got an international auto switching 100-240 V 50/60 Hz power supply that draws only 297W which drops to less than 1W in standby mode. The MS500 can also project video in the NTSC, PAL and SECAM international video standards.
And speaking of international, its onscreen display (OSD) offers your choice of 28 languages. The MS500 can handle 720p, 1080i and 1080p high definition projection and it's also compatible with most Macintosh and PC resolution sync rates. It can display any of the four standard closed captioning channels from programming sources that provide them.
The MS500's extensive connectivity includes a USB, component and S-video as well as a PC in and monitor out. With all of those possible inputs you may find that you have multiple sources plugged into your MS500 at the same time. Activating Quick Auto Search will automatically switch to the one that's got the live signal.
For price, functionality and power in a lightweight package, the MS500 is hard to beat.

A good price/resolution compromise for slide shows and presentations. Bought it just for that (Toastmasters club) and we haven't tried projecting a movie.

Comments about BenQ MS500 3D Ready DLP Projector:
I bought this projector to use in our Children's Church area. The old projector had gotten where you could only see if it you turned the light off. I know it needed a new lamp, but this new BenQ was just a little more expensive than the cost of a new lamp for the old projector.
Once we put up this BenQ, I was amazed. The colors looked great. It is very bright. Even with the lights on fully, it is very easy to see the picture.

Comments about BenQ MS500 3D Ready DLP Projector:
i am an artist and got this projector for general use in my studio, watch movies and sports games. For a tight budget this thing is great. It is bright in all lighting situations projects big and image reads crisp and clear. Yet the resolution is not fantastic but for general use at home and studio this is just fine. Would not use this projector for gallery/public display of video because of lower resolution quality. 5 stars for general studio tool.

Comments about BenQ MS500 3D Ready DLP Projector:
The projector has done what I wanted it to do, but because the instructions were difficult to follow, I had to figure out how to operate it on my own. I have a mac, and had to buy an adaptor, even though it was advertised as being Mac Ready.
