However, the mini does come standard with Apple's iLife '11. With iLife, you get a complete suite of digital creativity applications, all pre-installed on the Mac mini. Easy enough for anyone to use, iLife will help you edit your home movies, organize digital photos, and compose original music. An optional remote control is also available, but sold separately.
This Mac mini model is powered by a 2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 Processor with 3MB on-chip shared L3 cache. There's an SDXC memory card slot as well. Plus, the system supports dual display and video mirroring, an Apple iPhone headset with microphone (sold separately), and HDMI multi-channel audio output. There's even a built-in speaker for enjoying your favorite music from iTunes.
The portable desktop computer runs using the intuitive Mac OS X Lion operating system. The innovative operating system supports intuitive natural scrolling and full-screen applications as well. You'll be able to expand the functionality of your computer system by browsing through the multitude of productivity applications, games, and other software that is available for purchase. Comments about Apple 500GB Mac mini with 2.7GHz Intel Core i7:
I am a photographer but have had it with issues that afflict non-apple products. I was not ready to trash all my peripherals and new monitor. This mac mini is configured to be powerful and functional.

Comments about Apple 500GB Mac mini with 2.7GHz Intel Core i7:
I'm actually using this machine to replace an older MacPro desktop box. This machine has more power, is quieter and is a great fit in my workflow. I also intend on using it as a video server tied directly to my home A/V system as it has an HDMI out built in. This is a fantastic piece of hardware! Video editing, organizing family photos, watching movies... you name it this machine will do it!

Comments about Apple 500GB Mac mini with 2.7GHz Intel Core i7:
This is ultimately for connecting to a TV as a media device. But, for now, it's a general purpose computer. Works flawlessly. Very quiet. Replaced the stock HD with an SSD and the boot time was amazing (7-8seconds). Right now, it's connected to a Dell monitor w/ a Dell mouse & Apple wireless keyboard. I'm missing the magic trackpad.

Comments about Apple 500GB Mac mini with 2.7GHz Intel Core i7:
I replaced the installed HD with a fast SSD and the result is one fast, quiet, cool, Mac Mini music server that runs just Lion, iTunes and Pure Music pulling music files from an external NAS drive and generating so little jitter and EMI that my audio system has taken a qualitative leap towards uncorrupted purity of sound. This Mac Mini chews up work fast, is inaudible and stays beneath 120F. I highly recommend it as a game-changing music server!

Comments about Apple 500GB Mac mini with 2.7GHz Intel Core i7:
We purchased the Apple Thunderbolt display to use with our daughter's MacBook Air. That wasn't a good combination, so to make use of the wonderful display, Mac MINI was the ticket. B&H was the right place to buy it since the Apple store sells only at retail. B&H shipped the same day and we had it two days later. We loaded it with CS 5.0 PhotoShop Extended, and between that and iPhoto, we're in a good position for homework, family photos, and general amusement. The MINI takes precious little room, generates almost no noise nor heat, and has plenty of connections to support most anything one would want. We also purchased at B&H the wireless track pad and keyboard -- makes for a most clean installation.

Small machine yet super fast. A very capable desktop for office and home based multimedia work.
I added an SSD to it and the machine is very responsive. I can also run all my Windows program with Parallels 7 which comes for free.

Seems like the world has gotten a little brighter. Thought it woukd take real getting used to after just using PCs all my life, but as with all apple products it really is the most user friendly computer i"ve ever used. Upgrading the ram right out of the box was a snap.

Comments about Apple 500GB Mac mini with 2.7GHz Intel Core i7:
I bought this to upgrade with a 240G SSD that I already own. The drive went in pretty easily with the install videos from OWC ([@]) -- just be methodical! It's now a very fast machine that runs almost completely silently, unlike the iMac with its 3.5" hard drives. I haven't yet seen the fan spin up beyond its base 1800rpm, even running Flash ;-)
