I do a lot of nature photography and the XT Flash Extender increases the distance my SB 900 flash illuminates my subjects, ie., birds, squirrels, rabbits, etc. The flash extender mounts securely to the flash and stays there even in windy conditions. I would recommend this unit to anyone needing to extend the reach of their Nikon SB 900 flash.
