Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Web Premium for Windows:
I hope to get into Web design, to broaden my skill set and also because free expression over the Internet may lead to a last-ditch salvaging of U.S. democracy when so much "approved" public discourse is a fully bought creature of the corporate media.
I'm pretty raw -- I took one short community college course, and other than that, what I've learned about HTML and CSS has basically come from reading and talking to people. I knew I wanted/needed Dreamweaver and Photo Shop . . . the other components of Adobe's full design suite will, I hope, become useful and usable for me later on. I looked into everything from cheap, probably pirated copies of the software on Craig's List, to trying to learn HTML code on my own just using Microsoft Notepad, to getting pieces of the Adobe package and adding more as I move along. I decided to buy the full suite to benefit from Adobe customer support, and to have access to all the programs even before I learn how to run them expertly.
The software loaded easily, and the user interface, while not quintessentially intuitive, is relatively straightforward to deal with. I'm pleased with my purchase so far.
