This DVI to S-video adapter simply swaps some pins. In order to properly convert the DVI signal to S-video, down-conversion and color space conversion is needed. This adapter doesn't do that. This results in an unrecognizable video signal.
Poor design. It isn't universal functional. That's for sure.
