The Sony 2GB W Series Walkman MP3 Player (Black) offers an innovative all-in-one design for enjoying your music while working out. The cordless headphones house a 2GB MP3 player and come with three different size earbuds for optimum comfort. The one-piece design features a unique band that floats comfortably on the back of your neck, allowing you to be wire-free, hands-free, and without distraction whether you're at the gym or outdoors working out. The W Series Walkman is also water-resistant with a IPx5 rating, which means that it will hold up to even the most intense workouts
If your forget to charge the device before a run, a three-minute quick charge will give you up to 60 minutes of playback, while a full 1.5 hour charge will give you up to eight hours of playback. The MP3 player is also equipped with Sony's exclusive Clear Audio Technologies, as well as the ZAPPIN search feature, which lets you navigate through your music collection by playing back main melodies.
The Walkman is compatible with Windows XP (SP2), XP (SP3), Vista, and Windows 7. Plus, for added convenience, the player lets you drag and drop your audio files from iTunes for Windows, Windows Media Player or Internet Explorer. Once your files are loaded onto the Walkman, you can change songs with a tap of the Rocker Switch on the headphones, and to change folders or playlists, just tap and hold the switch.

I had the previous version (W252) of this MP3 player and decided to buy the W262 because of its reduced size. Its balance is greatly improved, the earbuds are much more stable and do not move off of the ears while running, like to old ones. Sound quality is also improved (maybe because of it staying in the right place and not sliding down during exercise).
I am an ex-user of iPod Shuffles. I used to own 4 of them, from 2nd to 4th generations, and they all lived for just a couple of months until they died since they are not moisture resistant. Thumbs up for Sony that is probably conquering new customers like me that could not make iPod their MP3 player for exercising.
I highly recommend this MP3 player to everybody who needs a rugged and stable player to listen to music during impact exercise, without the annoying wires all around your body.

This is the only MP3 player now I use for sports and exercise. I used the first generation of this MP3 player for 6 months, it was pretty nice. The second generation improved in size, weight and now has an on-off switch. You don't hear as much outside noise comparing to the previous version, but you can still hear them so you'll be fine working out on the street. It uses micro USB instead of mini USB, which I thought was a step backward since mini USB is more common. Overall, it is definitely a nice upgrade from the older version.
