The Western Digital 750GB 2.5” WD Scorpio Black SATA Hard Drive offers additional space to store your files at a single location and allows you to save storage space on your internal hard drive. Designed for notebook computers, the SATA Hard Drive is portable and comes with a SATA 3 Gbps interface, 16 MB data buffer, and 7200 RPM rotational speed.
AF (Advanced Format) offers increased areal densities, allowing the 2.5” drive to store photos, music, and videos. ShockGuard technology protects the drive mechanics and platter surfaces from shocks during daily operations. Additionally, the SecurePark feature parks the recording heads off the disk surface during spin up, spin down, and when the drive is off, ensuring that the recording head does not come in contact with the disk surface. This feature offers long-term reliability of the hard drive due to less head wear and improved non-operational shock tolerance.
With IntelliSeek technology, the WD Scorpio Black SATA Hard Drives provides 5400 RPM-equivalent power utilization in a 7200 RPM drive. IntelliSeek technology calculates the optimum seek speed of the drive, thereby minimizing power consumption, while WhisperDrive considerably reduces noise level to offer optimum performance.

Comments about Western Digital 750GB 2.5" WD Scorpio Black SATA Hard Drive:
I use a PCI Express SSD as my Macbook Pro's boot disk, so I wanted an internal replacement for the stock 250GB drive that was much larger, for music, movies, development, and Boot Camp.
This drive is the current best choice for large capacity, and makes for a speedy Boot Camp partition. I've had no noise, compatibility, or firmware issues to deal with, either!

Comments about Western Digital 750GB 2.5" WD Scorpio Black SATA Hard Drive:
this is an upgrade from 500gb that came in my Dell 14R. My laptop seems to be noticeably faster and I now have lots of room for additions to my video and audio file collections.
I would have gone to 1TB but it was hard to find one with 7200rpm and 16mb cache.
This drive was highly rated by others and had the best spec's.
It runs quit and cool.
PS; to replace the drive on a Dell 14R requires a total tear-down, not for the faint of heart, perhaps a 6 or 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 on difficulty. There are no convenient quick covers to the hard drive
