I purchased several of these cards to replace 3 8GB cards (one Lexar, and 2 from other manufactureres) that I thought I'd lost. As a side-note, turns out that your CF cards can in fact survive a trip through the clothes washer & dryer--that's where I found the 8GB cards--but I wouldn't recommend it and it probably voids a warranty at the very least.
I don't know anything about who actually makes CF cards, whether they're all made at one plant and simply rebranded for various companies, and honestly I don't really care much. I've never had a major problem with any of the CF cards I've bought, going all the way back to my first 128MB cards--after some early failures it seemed like a good idea to re-format them frequently.
But I have noticed that speed counts--sometimes within the camera, though that's hard to tell depending on your camera, and definitely with the file transfers, which is easy to see. Because CF cards are expensive, I always try to buy the fastest ones I can afford, rationalizing it as "future-proofing" for when I get a new "big" camera that can actually use the speed.
Size counts, too, but bigger is not always better. While it is a drag to have to change cards in the middle of a good shoot, it is a bigger drag to lose/damage a card with a bunch of great stuff on it. Sometimes it's better not to put all your eggs in one CF basket. That said, as pixel-counts continue to climb, over time we'll need bigger cards just to hold the same number of frames.
So I decided to go with 16GB 600xLexar cards to replace the 8GB. They're as fast as I could get. 16GB seemed like a reasonable step up in case I get that bigger/better camera I've been lusting for. I've had great luck with Lexar and with other brands, and the Lexars we're a little less expensive than a couple of other brands, and more expensive than several brands with whom I have no experience.
So far they work fast and flawlessly on my DSLR. They were expensive, but the more I use them the less they'll end up costing on a per-shot.
And I still have my 8GB cards :-)

In June 2011 I bought a Lexar 16GB 600x for my 7D. In September it suddenly stopped working without any warning. It could not be read or formatted in any camera or computer. Messages in the camera said: "Card cannot be be accessed. Reinsert/change the card or format the card with the camera" and "Cannot format. Change card".
Luckily there were no photos on the card at the time. I sent the card back to Lexar under warranty. It took forever to get a new card back. (approx 4 weeks)
The new card lasted about 8 weeks and is now doing the exact same thing. This time I was not so lucky. I had taken approx 100 photos over Christmas, and the next day, once again without warning, it could not be read or formatted. I will send it in again, but my trust in Lexar is non-existent at this point.
I have been using other Sandisk and Duracell cards in my 7D for 2 years and never had a problem with any card other than the with Lexar.
I just ordered another Sandisk card, and will probably never buy Lexar products again.

Just bought a Canon 7D and this cf card does a tremendous job of catching what the camera sees without missing a pixel! It is fast and easy and with 16 gig it will catch a LOT of pictures even shooting Raw plus JPEG!! Haven't found anything I don't like--plus the lifetime warranty is a plus!

I have regular dealers I deal with here in Toronto Canada for my camera equipment and related gear. However, recently I've begun using B&H as I thought I'd give them a whirl. NO disappointments! I've received everything as-advertised and agreed-upon, in a very timely fashion and clearly brand-new! B&H is now one of my handful of go-to suppliers for my photographic needs :D~Dannyhttp://www.dbiphotography.com/

This one chip doubles the capacity of the four spare 4GB chips I carry in my camera backback on weekend shoots. There have been a couple of times when I've grabbed my camera for some quick opportunity shots and suffered "CF card full". That's not going to happen with this 16GB card. The faster card is better for my new camera, especially if I want to shoot video on occasion. I'll be buying more. Reason for only 4 stars is I have only had the chip for about a month. If it holds up without any problems for three years, then it'll get the 5th star.

I purchased this card to shoot a train charter, featuring a steam locomotive. The first day I shot 557 photos in raw.
All were with this card, and it performed flawlessly. I even shot several videos with it the next day. Great speed. Very fast.

I've been using SDHC cards for my Canon T2i but needed a CF card for my 5D Mark ii. This card performs very well. However the transfer rate when I downloaded about 100 images in the RAW and Large Jpeg format was much slower than the SDHC card for some reason and dissapointing for the price I paid.

Bought a new Canon 7D and sure glad I bought 2 16GB cards. Amazing how quickly you can fill up a 16GB card due to the increased file size and speed that I can now take at multiple exposures setting I burned through 16 GB in a hurry. That was without any video, which I haven't tried doing yet! If I start taking video, I'll probably wish I had a 32GB card. I was really surprised at how quickly the files were writing to the card even at multiple exposures setting.

The Lexar 16GB 600x CF Card is fast as advertised. When shooting wildlife or sports there is no substitute for speed in capturing images. Couple this card with the Lexar 3.0 card reader for quickly loading your images to your computer. I use Lexar brand cards for their reliability and have never had a problem. Beware of brand "X" cards.
