International orders*The WinTV-DCR-2650 Dual Tuner CableCARD Receiver for Windows from Hauppauge is a cable TV set top box for Windows 7 Media Center. WinTV-DCR-2650 incorporates two tuners, so with Windows 7 Media Center you can record two TV programs at the same time, or you can watch one TV program while another one is being recorded.
The WinTV-DCR-2650 does not have any internal disk storage. It uses your PC for storing recorded programs. The nice thing about using your PC for storage is that if you fill up your hard drive, you can easily add a new hard drive to your PC.
Lastly, there are never monthly fees associated with the WinTV-DCR-2650. Once you buy it, it's yours to use forever. However, you still need to sign up for cable TV service, and you will still need to rent a digital cable card from your local cable operator.

Comments about Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-2650 Dual Tuner CableCARD Receiver for Windows:
PC with win 7 and Tuning adapter from Cable company. By the way, the cable company was helpful in getting the cable card/Tuning adapter to work.
At first could not get all channels, but after having PC connected and running for a day everything works great. Be sure to get the latest setup files from Hauppauge support. I would strongly recommend this unit to a friend with Win 7 PC.

Comments about Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-2650 Dual Tuner CableCARD Receiver for Windows:
As a Cablevision customer, I traded in my incredibly sluggish Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD and replaced it with their CableCARD. With the WinTV-DCR-2650 and a Windows 7 Media Center PC, I am able to combine and simplify my home theater setup to the way I want it, while saving $15 per month doing so.
Surprisingly, there's no mention of an infrared receiver on the retail box, but the latest drivers from Hauppauge's website enable it on the front of the device. Simply purchase any Windows Media Center-compatible remote and you can control your HTPC with ease.

Comments about Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-2650 Dual Tuner CableCARD Receiver for Windows:
First just as a general caution, jus because your cable company has to give you a cable card doesn't mean thay now how to set it up. It took 3 days and 5 technitions to get someone who knew how to set one up over the phone. After that headach I started to set up my guide to record shows, works well with windows seven interface, the problem was the dvr stops recording and needs to be powered cycle so it basically a dvr that you have to watch the show live in order to power cycle the device ones during a hour long show.
