Beats Audio is exclusive to HP notebook computers and is provided through integrated quad speakers. This system is powered by a quad-core 2.4GHz A8-3500M accelerated processor with VISION A8 technology. It also has 6GB of DDR3 RAM, a 640GB 5400rpm SATA hard drive, a built-in HP TrueVision HD low-light webcam, an integrated digital microphone, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

We needed a replacement machine moving from one laptop to another and found this great computer. Windows 7 is nice coming from a Macintosh platform and the features of the keyboard and HP system work well with it. The controls and shortcuts are great and there is a lot of setting options to choose from for power and item browsing.
The battery holds steady for 3-4 hours easily and the size is good to have plenty of keyboard and screen space without being too huge. The touchpad can be a bit sensitive when typing but all-in-all, a very good machine.

The DV6 is a do-it-all workhorse. The fact that it plays BlueRays is an even bigger plus. You'd be hard pressed to find a laptop in this price range with better specs or a more attractive finish. Only complaints? Keyboard is a bit cheap sounding (they all are, except for my Lenovo W520). And the Beats Audio, though not bad, really just sounds like almost any other laptop out there (which means it's adequate, but that's about it).

I went with the AMD instead of Intel because they have a better graphics card for photo editing and WOW its sharpe and clear. Also, HP makes it very easy to set up....you dont get all the garbage that Dell puts you through.
