The Western Digital 1TB Scorpio Blue Internal Hard Drive (2.5”) is designed for use in portable computing solutions, and features a 3 Gbps SATA interface, 5400 RPM rotational speed, and 8 MB buffer size. It can transfer data at speeds up to 3 Gbps (buffer to host) and 150 MB/s (host to drive). In addition, the hard drive offers 5.5 ms average latency and 4 sec average ready time.
ShockGuard technology protects the drive mechanics and platter surfaces from shocks. WhisperDrive technology makes use of seeking algorithms to minimize operational noise. A shock rating of 400 G operating and 1000 G non-operating makes the drive capable of withstanding accidental drops.
The SecurePark feature safely parks the recording head and keeps it away from the disk surface during spin up, spin down, and when the drive is off, thereby ensuring long term reliability and improved non-operational shock tolerance. Advanced power management features save power and improve battery life. In addition, the Scorpio Blue internal hard drive incorporates Advanced Format technology that increases media format efficiencies, allowing for larger drive capacities.

Comments about Western Digital 1TB Scorpio Blue Internal Hard Drive (2.5"):
The drive was shipped immediately and arrived sooner than promised. Installed this particular drive in a late-2009 Macbook Pro, after installing the same drive purchased last fall into a 2007 Macbook Pro. Both work very well - very quiet and great on battery life! No problems thus far with either one.

Comments about Western Digital 1TB Scorpio Blue Internal Hard Drive (2.5"):
I use this 5400 RPM low wattage/low heat hard drive in a Tonido server to store media and backups.
The 750GB had good reviews for this plug server and I wanted to get the equvalent 1TB drive. Since this drive is also 9.5mm high I figured that it would work. It does work and works well for what I want it to do.
This is a effecient hard drive, not a quick hard drive, so don't use it for video editing, etc.
B&H had it for a great price and delivery was very quick!
