The D861 XGA 3000 Lumens Digital Projector is an ultra-portable DLP projector that supports an amazing 2500:1 contrast ratio and shines bright at 3000 ANSI lumens. The D861 delivers bright, superb digital images with full color saturation. Intended for high-impact multimedia presentations, the Vivitek D861 is unmatched in performance and function.
It includes a Kensington Lock as part of an anti-theft system, which is a small, metal-reinforced hole found on Vivitek video projectors. It is used for attaching a lock-and-cable apparatus, in particular those from Kensington. The D861 offers a 2W mono speaker system for clear, concise sound.
Weighing in at only 6 lb. (2.7kg), the D861 is the true road warrior. Take it wherever you go for showcasing any presentation you need to.

We use the projector for a church meeting in a YMCA gym. We have very little control over the lighting and it is fairly bright. We use it as a "confidence monitor" for the worship team and project straight on a white cinderblock wall. This projector works well and is plenty bright. I would be comfortable using it as a main projector if needed. The inputs are pretty limited, but I pretty much just use VGA anyway. Very limited zoom/focus control with the remote, but for the money I didn't expect much.
I've been doing audio/video productions for several years and have worked with a lot of projectors. The Vivitek is easy to set up and works well. I've used B&H for many equipment purchases from cameras, projectors, and audio gear. They are always great to work with and have never had a problem with them.

My wife needed a projector for presentation purposes. This was the right choice! The 3000 lumens is bright enough to show a very clear picture, even with lights on. It's very light (mine actually came with a carrying case!) Easy to use. (we are using a Mac Laptop). We couldn't be happier.

As a teacher, I use a projector on a daily basis to project PowerPoint presentations, videos, and to demonstrate the writing of computer code. The Vivitek D861 was purchased to replace another projector which failed after four years of heavy usage. This projector was easy to set up and worked with my Toshiba laptop computer without having to change any settings. The three adjustable feet allowed for easy balancing. The small remote control is easier to use than the one that came with my previous projector. The display on the screen is sharp and the colors are bright. At first glance, I am very pleased with this economically priced projector and glad I bought it.
